I grew up in Huntington Beach, California and spent my summers swimming competitively, and body surfing and cycling for fun. I discovered the joy in exercise at a young age and spent most of my days outside being active. My interest in resistance training and core strength development came later in life during my recovery from an injury. I had a very bad fall in my mid thirties. Everything seemed fine, and then in a second, I was falling and I hit the ground hard, like a door slamming shut, flat on my front side with one arm out stretched and the opposite leg splayed out. The pain that followed was severe. I went to physical therapy for eight months and it helped tremendously. I continued to exercise after physical therapy and I educated myself about exercises to help with my pain and injury. I noticed, over time, that exercise made the pain go away and I actually had days, and then weeks, months and years without pain. If I didn’t exercise my pain would eventually come back. Because of my own experience with the healing effects of exercise, I decided to go back to school to study exercise science. My work focuses on building core muscle strength, teaching proper form and movement patterns, and building muscle mass through resistance training. I incorporate brain health and balance exercises, and end all of my sessions with relaxation for a sense of peace and joy.
I am a mother of three, including one adult daughter and seventeen-year-old twins. I intend to keep my body healthy and strong so I can live a full and active life. Exercise, including weight training and interval training, has given me a wonderful life with so much happiness. I would like to share the possibilities of such joy with all my clients.
