Blood on the Clocktower
Blood on the Clocktower is a captivating bluffing game of deduction and deception that forms bonds between strangers and is never the same game twice. A demon has come to Ravenswood Bluff hoping to destroy the town from within. In good versus evil, every player wins because it's a hilarious time in which even the dead stay involved and can influence the game. It's #murdermystery done differently.
Rounds will begin at 9:15 and will accommodate 5 to 9 players each round. A round will be run every 90 minutes to allow for some downtime between sessions.
The last games will go to those willing to try advanced scripts with up to 15 players, a 3-hour timeslot beginning at approximately 5 pm.
Crystal Woehrle-Logan, known online as gamer Hazel Quill, has been running Clocktower for seven years. Based in Maine, she's traveled about New England showing the joys of Clocktower and bringing people together both in person and on online forums. You can find her on YouTube in videos from the first year of the The Pandemonium Institute Twitch stream, including as a custom script competition winner, and as well as a few various other livestreams for charity. We welcome Quinn Whitestone this year to run sessions of BotC for us.
Crokinole
Crokinole is a dexterity board game, likely of Canadian origin, similar to the games such as Carrom, and Pichenotte, with elements of shuffleboard and curling in a table-top sized board. Players take turns flicking discs with the fingers across the circular playing surface, trying to land their discs in the higher-scoring regions of the board, particularly the recessed center hole worth 20 points, while also knocking the opponent's discs off the board, into the 'ditch'. In Crokinole, the shooting is generally towards the center, unlike carroms and Pichenotte, where the shooting is towards the four outer corner pockets. Crokinole can also be played with small cue sticks, and there is a special category for cue stick play at the World Crokinole Championships in Tavistock, Ontario, Canada.
Wolf Crest Game Con is excited to have Ian Shaw with us to show us all about Crokinole. Ian is an all-terrain gamer and cooking enthusiast, played Crokinole for the first time 10 years ago at his college tabletop gaming club. Today, he runs a Meetup at Mighty Squirrel in Waltham as a part of Greater Boston Crokinole, a Tracey Boards affiliate club that runs Meetups across Massachussetts and New Hampshire. He's stoked to teach and play some Crokinole and have a "flicking" great time!
Times to be announced.
