To search in the mobile app, click on the magnifying glass search icon, and type in your search. The results will be shown in the view that you're using. If you don't find what you're looking for, try swiping left or right to see if it's on another day.

Search for "Mi"
This will find all events with "mi" in the title or the event details, including "Mike", "Family", etc.

Click the grey X to the right of the search string to return to all events
Note that the "Search sub calendars" box in the sidebar is not a keyword search, but a search for the names of the different calendars for types of events.
