I understand that Perimeter is a one dimensional measurement which gives the sum of the sides of any polygon
I understand that Area = l • w (for a rectangle) is a two dimensional measurement which gives the number of unit squares that can fill a shape.
I can find the perimeter, area, or volume of any object using polynomials for it's dimensions.
AREA MODEL to multiply polynomials...
1) Write the two expressions being multiplied along the top and left side of a rectangle.
2) Make rows and colums for each term.
3) Multiply each pair of monomials corresponding to each square.
4) Combine like terms and write as an expression.
