Objective

I understand that the four basic mathematical operations (+ , - , • , / ) are intuitive methods for counting which we use every day.
I can define the four main math operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, & division) in context of a real life example and use math symbols (+ , - , • , / , = ) to simplify and show the solution.

Warm-Up:

♦ Answer these questions to the best of your ability...

1) The vending machines are stocked daily on campus. Each vending machine on can hold 100 bags of chips. If there are 25 vending machines on campus, how many bags of chips can be sold each day?

2) You walk into class at 2:15, the teacher say's, "You're 30 minutes late." What time did class start?

3) Nick owes his landlord $1,000 for rent, the electric company $100 and the water company $35. His paycheck was for $2,000. How much does he have after paying his bills?

4) Four friends start a moving company. In one week they moved 5 houses and made $350 for each house. They split their revenue evenly. How much money does each friend get that week?

Directions: Complete the worksheet in your group of 3 or less for all four operations. Next, make a Flip video presenting your group's work for ONE operation (the operation will be assigned to each group). Each member should be in ONE video presentation reading from one of the boxes or make their own. {DUE 8/4}
