The Center is an alternative to a trip to the emergency department for urgent mental health needs. For adults age 18 and over, without an appointment on a walk-in basis, you may call ahead to be accepted as soon as space as available. Behavioral health services are voluntary, patients are free to come and go as they please. You’ll experience a comfortable, relaxed environment with clinicians who can assist your with problem-solving and safety planning.

Children must be accompanied by a caregiver for the duration of the walk-in visit. Services include Assessment and evaluation, Safety planning, Crisis intervention (coping skills and coaching) Family-centered support, Linkage to appropriate community and educational resources. If your child is not safe to go home or needs admission the Urgent Care will have the ability to support your family with the transition.
Child and Adolescent Inpatient Services: Part of Strong Memorial Hospital, (585) 273-2320, (585) 275-5300, Psychiatry Service serves patients from 5-18 who have symptoms of acute psychiatric illness or disorder requiring a safe, therapeutic and supportive environment to assist with stabilization interventions. Admissions generally occur on an emergency basis.

It is also utilized for at-risk adolescents who need of a step-down from an inpatient hospitalization. Program includes individual, group and family therapy, psychiatric evaluation to see if medication is appropriate.
