Q: Who is eligible to compete?
A: Any WNY Pony Club member in good standing. DCs must check to be sure a rider is up to date on membership requirements. Open to other regions with RS/RO permission.
Q: How do I send in my entry?
A: This year we will be using Blue Horse Entries. This is a completely online platform that interfaces with our scoring program Start Box. Payments will be taken online on the Blue Horse Website. No more piles of papers and checks on rally organizers dining room tables!
**You must fill out one online entry for SJ and a second entry for Dressage!****
Q: Do I have to compete in both SJ and Dressage?
A: Nope! Riders may sign up for one or both rallies.
Q: Why an overnight rally?
A: We had some requests from members to try and prepare riders for Champs which is a week long overnight rally experience lasting 6 days! This is a mini-version of that experience.
Q: Can i skip the night before and just come the day-of to ride?
A: No. Both of these rallies are overnight rallies which are judged differently that same day rallies. You must be present by the SJ 6pm briefing Friday 6/10 to ride on 6/11. You must be present at the Dressage 5:15 pm briefing on Saturday 6/11 to ride on 6/12.
Q: Can I ride a different horse for each rally?
A: Yes...but stall may be limited. Please contact Anne Eilinger for off grounds stabling if needed.
Q: Can I share a horse?
A: Yes- but it must be approved by organizers. The horse must be fit enough to compete with 2 riders. Both riders MUST be on the same team. Rally organizers and officials reserve the right to disqualify one or both riders if the horse is not able to perform safely.
Q: How many riders are on a team?
A: There are 3-4 riders per team. Teams with 4 riders will have the lowest scores dropped. A team may also consist of a stable manager and a C advisor.
Q: Are stable managers required for every team?
A: No but they are an important part of the team! If your horse is lame or you are in-between horses consider this opportunity! SM are a cost effective option and are important part of team success!
Q: What is a C advisor?
A: A C advisor is a C level non-riding team member who helps and advises less experienced teams. If you have a team of younger riders you can request a C advisor from a different team if your club does not have any C level members.
Q: Will food be provided?
A: Pizza Party Friday night for $6 per person. Saturday breakfast for sale at the concessions stand. Lunch free to competitors Saturday afternoon. Dinner not provided. Sunday Breakfast and Lunch available for purchase at the concessions stand.
