All Versions of Windows Media Players, Most of them works better with older version of windows.
IMPORTANT: It's highly recommended you make a recovery point before intalling a previous WMP version on modern versions of Windows operating system, they can bring issues to your device, such as making file transfer with usb impossible. So if you ever feel like rolling back to WMP12/Legacy, you must use the recovery point you've made.
