Yilun Zhuang was born in China and now is a senior at William and Mary, where she found her passion for cross-cultural perspectives in Art History. Yilun’s concentration lies in Eastern Asian art. She has had the chance to study abroad in the UK twice during college. In the most recent one, Yilun joined a three-month program with the University of Oxford where she studied modern and contemporary Japanese and Chinese art. Yilun is also interested in curatorial studies. She went to a museum studies summer program in her freshman year and interned in the Muscarelle Museum of Art in Williamsburg for three semesters. After graduation, Yilun is taking a gap year back in China before she further pursues her academic career. The year 2020 is going to be exciting for her as she explores the diverse forms of combination of art and commerce as well as the vibrant contemporary art scene in Southeast China.
