Samantha Ros is an Art History major and Marine Science minor from Alexandria, Virginia. She is primarily interested in art historical research that highlights what may be traditionally considered ‘outsider’ art. Her honors thesis research, “The Mexican Ex-Voto Tradition as a Potential Subversion of Authority,” examines popular devotional practices through nineteenth and twentieth-century devotional oil paintings on tin. During her junior and senior years at William and Mary she interned at Norge Depot in Norge, Virginia. Upon graduation she hopes to pursue further education in art conservation.
