Eleanor Pschirrer-West, a senior at William & Mary, is majoring in Art History with a Critical Curatorial Studies concentration and a Religious Studies minor. She spent her junior year as a visiting student at Hertford College at the University of Oxford. Her thesis, Pre-Raphaelites and Polar Bears: J.E. Millais and The North-West Passage , is an exploration of the nexus of Victorian cultural movements surrounding J.E. Millias’s painting, The North-West Passage. She is from Hanover, New Hampshire. She would like to thank everyone who made this research possible, especially professors Catherine Levesque and Cristina Stancioiu, as well as her friends for listening to her hopes, fears, and ‘fun’ Arctic facts ad nauseam.
