Maybe I can ‘blame’ a very good friend of my parents, who lived in the same street, and was a passionate massage therapist. My parents became very good friend with her family when I was 8, and we spent most Saturday afternoons or Sundays in their garden listening to her stories, wisdom and zest for life.
But it took me many years – until beginning 2004 (when I was 42) – before I finally started training in Massage etc. I’ve been a (New Zealand qualified and UK approved) Massage therapist since 2005, Reflexologist since 2006 and Manual Lymphatic Drainage therapist since 2008.
I’m passionate about massaging / treating people and know the benefit of therapeutic touch and human touch in general. I treat patients with tense muscles (back, neck, shoulders, legs etc), headaches / migraine / tinnitus if caused by tense neck muscles or stress), sciatica, Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), lymphoedema etc.
I also love languages and other countries and cultures, and have been a qualified language tutor and translator (German, French, Italian and English) since 2004.
I was born in Eislingen, a town with 20,000 inhabitants, 30 miles east of Stuttgart in southern Germany, in 1961, and spent all my schooling there. In 1986 I moved to Göppingen (60,000 inhabitants, only 4 miles west of Eislingen). Little did I know that a few years later the big world would be calling.
In 1992 / 1993 (no internet or mobile phones etc back then) I did a 9-month world-trip (Singapore, Malaysia, Bali / Indonesia, Australia, New Zealand, Cook island, Hawaiian Islands and Mainland USA, Canada and UK (but I had visited the UK ten times before then). I had a great but sometimes also a bit scary time, and my life changed forever.
In 1994 I moved to New Zealand and lived there for 21 years before ‘coming full circle’ and moving to Petersfield (which I have known since September 1993).
I love Petersfield and surroundings, the beautiful South Downs and being part of the ‘Wishing Well’ team.
