About WingNutz

Welcome to WingNutz.com!

I've been drawing cartoons since I was a toddler (sometimes in places and with media I'm sure my mom would have rather I hadn't).

In 1987 I was asked to draw a series of cartoons for a presentation delivered at NCR Corporation, and chose the name WingNutz for the title.

When this latest Presidential campaign got to it's fever-pitch, I decided to begin using it again, beginning with the Cartoon on Election day.

I'm not sure when the domain first became available, but I purchased it and began adding cartoons to it, changing the theme (and even the hosting) several times.

Like me, the site has gone through a slew of uses in the past 15 years. The main change is that after 25 years in the Graphics industry, I returned to school to earn a Single Subject Teaching Credential and Masters in Education to become an Art Teacher.

My first teaching position was at a local high school in San Diego; that changed in 2015 when I was assigned to a string of Middle Schools.

I teach Art through the lens of Cartooning, demonstrating basic drawing via the construction method and grid drawings, which transition into murals on campus. This year I'm at Clark Middle School in San Diego, but, due to the stay-at-home orders, am teaching via Distance-Learning, from Tucson, Arizona.

If you want more information about me, here's a little more about me, taken from an earlier website (last updated for the 2014-2015 school year, before I switched schools). I know, I know, busy Cartoonists and Teachers update their own information after their clients' sites are done. Check back later, and I'll update it on this site.
