Haro, whilst the capital of the Rioja region, is a small town with limited accommodation options and availability during peak tourism events and the wine fight certainly falls into that category.
The campsite at Haro (Camping de Haro) is excellent. The owners are very hospitable, helpful and genuinely wish for your stay to be memorable and comfortable. This is a very clean campsite, with well maintained amenities and a super swimming pool and bbq area with separate kids pool and larger pool. There are also basketball and soccer courts, a climbing wall and lots of green space and shady areas to relax. To walk into Haro town centre from the campsite takes only 15 minutes and only 3 minutes by car. The campsite location is as central as you can be in Haro and is within walking distance of everything in the town so is an ideal base for the wine fight in June. The other added bonus of staying at the Haro campsite is that the local buses that are put on by the council to take people out to the location of the wine fight on the cliffs of Bilibio depart from right out the front of the campsite.
