Service feels good! Brightening someone’s day feels good!
How long have you lived in Windsor?
I moved to Vermont almost seven years ago to be closer to my aging parents. I lived in the mountains of California on the border of Nevada for 35 years in South Lake Tahoe. I raised eight kids! (Yes, I birthed them all). Loved being a Mom!
Why did you get involved in the Windsor-area COVID-19 Response Team?
I started doing Meals on Wheels in Tahoe and found that it was my favorite day of the week. Service feels good! Brightening someone’s day feels good! So when I moved home (I was born in Vermont), I volunteered at Meals on Wheels in Windsor. I still love community and service! It’s an amazing thing what happens when I get out of myself and help another.
When Lori started the COVID
-19 Relief program I was grateful to do whatever I could
to help. (I still feel like I’m not doing enough, honestly).
What helps you cope during the pandemic?
My two youngest kids, who are in their twenties, are here on the farm, so it’s been super fun spending this time with them and they help a lot!
Life truly is a wonderful adventure! Hang in there for the ride!
