If you live in Windsor, VT, you can help your neighbors during the COVID-19 emergency by becoming a street captain.
What does a street captain do?
A street captain keeps an eye on their street. If a street captain suspects that a household is at risk—maybe because it lacks internet access, or lacks knowledge of where to find help— the street captain will leave the COVID-19 Response Team’s info. at their door. That's all there is to it.
Maybe the at-risk household is an older adult who is living alone, a disabled person, or someone caring for small children. Then again, it might be an extremely busy person who never slows down. We rely on your instincts to identify those individuals who, for whatever reason, might be in the dark as to how to seek help. Better that you leave too much information than not enough.

As the COVID-19 situation evolves, we may need you to deliver new information to these same households. We don't need to know who they are, and you will never need to interact with them on a personal level. The main thing is to be sure that they get the information.
We're trying very hard to help those who need it, but most of our outreach is internet-based, and folks are beyond our reach. As your street's "captain," you bridge that gap.
