Colored Numbers on Outer Ring
For most boats in the database there are boom angle numbers shown on the outer ring to help trimming the sails.
Those colored numbers suggest, what number to trim the sail to.
Example: if number "30" is up top, trim your boom angle to around "30".
Trim your mainsail with Up / Down keys or your gestures.
You find the readings for "Boom" in the cockpit or on several Text Info Huds.
Listens for Start- AND Stopsignals from the Raceline
You must be in the same Region with the Raceline to be able to receive the signals.
It shows the Countdown, as soon the Startsignal has been received.
Click on the numbers, to change timeformat: 00:00 or just seconds
The countdown plays the following Signals:
signalhorn at countdown start
signalhorn one minute before start (preparation signal)
beeps at 30, 20, 15, 10, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, 0 seconds
(Default: OFF)
Note: During an active Stopwatch, the Countdown is not available.
Lalias startline v2.x allows up to 4 starts in one race.
Up to 4 different boat classes can start on their own group in the same race.
(Example: B22 on Start 1, Star Class on Start 2, Bandit IF on Start 3, Sjogin on Start 4)
- In Compass activate the Timer
- Click on the small triangle in the lower left corner in Text Hud,
- Select your Startnumber (if you sail the Bandit IF, select "3")
Your Countdown Timer starts only, if your Startnumber (Bandit IF group) is due. So raise your sails, if its your turn.
'Trial' is an option for the Startline mode 'Trial' - a race practice routine of the startline.
It allows automatic Timerstarts on crossing the startline. (WindCompass also autodetects the Trial Mode).
AutoClock becomes active, when a Route is loaded in the NAV.
The AutoClock starts the Stopwatch on the 1st waypoint and stops at the last waypoint.
At each waypoint it will output a SPLIT time in the chat.
You still can can control the Stopwatch by click or by Gestures.
Note: During an active Timer the Stopwatch is not available.
During a running Stopwatch find the small Options button below the SPLIT button.
START / STOP the clock
LAP = restart clock and output lap time to personal chat
SPLIT = output split times
Clock Reset = reset stopwatch
(Default: OFF)
You also can control the Stopwatch by Gestures. Find them in the WindCompass folder.
Note: During an active Timer the Stopwatch is not available.
During a running Stopwatch find the small Options button below the SPLIT button.
Gestures are the fastest way to set wind (no using menu or click on Hud).
If you use gesture chat commands to set wind for your boat, you can do the same for WindCompass!
It listens for chat commands in
format ("winddir ..." and "windspeed ...") or
or your defined User Channel (How to set my own channel: see Options).
It also listens for wind commands from own worn HUDs (example: Skipper Hud from Rubber Bunny)
(Default: OFF)
Note: Set the same channel your gestures are sending and your boat is listening
Gesture mode is not available in Racemode.
Gesture function is stored in boat database. Some boats that may not listen to Huds, are forced to Gesture Mode.
If Gesture mode is active, manual windsetting by Click is disabled.
If both, skipper and crew, using a WindCompass, the skipper can synchronize the winddirection and -speed on the crews Compass.
This might be useful for practice purposes or sailing lessons.
This works in Cruisemode.
Crew activates the "Gestures" button. (If Smart Mode is active, it autosync with Skippers Compass.)
Skipper can use Smart Mode OR gesture based shortcuts.
Note: Skipper must be the owner of the boat.
SEND WIND
In Cruisemode WindCompass will send wind to the boat.
No need to type "winddir"... "windspeed" it in chat anymore.
Click the Send Icon (Paperplane-Icon) to switch On/Off
(Default: Smart Mode)
SMART MODE
The Smart Mode takes care of many automatic functions and detections.
WindCompass will do the above Send Wind function and...
automatically sends the current Compass wind to boat when sitting on it,
turns on Timer on Racemode
turns off Racemode and Timer when standing up from boat
when re-sitting on boat, WindCompass will issue a cruising command
autosync Crews Compass as soon Crew activates the Gestures button
automatically set to Multistart1 - if not preselected by user (in Lalias Startline Multistart Mode)
automatically selects Trial Mode - if not preselected by user (in Lalias Startline Trial Mode)
Click the T of the word 'SMART' to switch On/Off
(Default: ON)

Whisperer On/Off
Shout On/Off
Set Channel = Set channel numbers the Shouter or Whisperer shall listen on.
Note: Channel numbers must be different for whisper and shout.
Channel Numbers are permanently saved and survive a Reset.
Example: Use a Gesture to shout something out:
in Shouter > Set Channel > Enter "99" to make the Shouter listen on channel /99.
create/edit a gesture:
Chat to say: "/99 STARBOARD",
Shortcut Key: "F1",
Activate this gesture.
Now, when you press "F1", the gesture will say "STARBOARD" on channel /99.
The Shouter picks that up and shouts it out on local chat: " 'Your Name' shouts STARBOARD " ... voila!
Similar procedure for Whisperer...
