A chiptune track, made using Furnace tracker software that emulates retro console sound chips - the main theme for overworld combat music in the game. Other battles with enemies feature widely varying arrangements of this melody. One of my more ambitious musical projects!
This epic orchestral track is based on the styles of games I grew up on like Metal Gear Solid, and films such as X-Men. The iconic styles of Harry Gregson-Williams and Hans Zimmer are melded here to provide a track that throws you straight into the best seat in a movie theatre.
This is the fourth Cue used in my score for Eloise Richmond's original play 'Mrs Alexander'. The music underpins a narrator whose dialogue gradually turns darker, turning from the happiness of newfound love to the plotting of murder. This track, like much of the show, is reflective of this tonal change.
I use Pitch bend on an electronic keyboard sound, doubled with a standard performance I did on jazz piano to create this haunting, interweaving effect. I also used a lot of automation to make these special moments stand out.
This epic orchestral piece takes influence from the styles of Nobo Uematsu and Yoko Shimomura in their soundtracks for various JRPG titles like Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts.
My first composing gig was for a production ofthis play, which was a pleasure to work on with director Maddie Clarke. This score uses jazz and funk styles and underpins a narrative of mixed emotions in this complex show. Influences taken from the magnificent score to Breaking Bad in the main theme.
This 70's disco-inspired track was made for the play '1972: The Future of Sex', a thought provoking play that touches on some key themes and historical considerations from the 1970's. It features in a scene taking place in - you guessed it - a 1970's disco. Lots of fun was had listening to the likes of the BeeGees and others for this one!
This jazz track was great fun to work on - all drum, bass and piano parts are recorded by myself and this recording takes the form of a typical jazz standard. Very much inspired by some of the jazz tunes made by the likes of Kevin McCleod.
