Toothbrush and toothpaste

"Don't use face wash or toothpaste with microbeads. These tiny plastic beads go down the drain, eventually making their way to rivers, lakes, and the ocean at a rate of eight trillion a day in the United States. Because these toxic beads look a lot like fish food, it's not uncommon for bigger fish and sea turtles to munch on them—a dish that could be deadly."

Shampoo bar

Dry shampoo could save 552 millions of plastic bottles each year!

  • 10 oz coconut oil
  • 10 oz tallow (or palm oil (hmm... try to avoid palm oil)
  • 10 oz olive oil
  • 6 oz castor oil
  • 5 oz lye
  • 12 oz distilled water

All purpose cleaner

All purpose cleaner: 50% vinegar (with orange or lemon zest for a nice smell), 50% water, Essential Oils (Lavender, tea tree, peppermint, etc.)

To unclog your sink or bath, pour some baking soda in the drain and add vinegar (careful, this is a chemical reaction and it will bubble!, keep your hands and eyes away!). Once the reaction is complete (no more bubbles), add boiling water. Repeat if necessary.

Bidet - Japanese style toilets

"Americans use over 34 million rolls of toilet paper every day which wastes precious resources and damages the environment and ecosystems that rely on trees. Using a bidet can reduce your toilet paper consumption by 80% and as a result, is fighting against the pulp industry which destroys 270,000 trees per day and wastes 37 gallons of water per toilet paper roll but TUSHY bidet does not stop there. They have a Give Back Program with Samagra, an organization that builds safe latrines for families in rural India. With ever TUSHY you buy, a portion of your purchase for to this great cause.

It doesn’t stop there. In 2019, TUSHY bidet will be putting their money where the butt is by becoming a carbon neutral brand. They are taking action on climate change and will offset their carbon emissions to become an official carbon Zero company." @BidetGenius

Natural Laundry Detergent

🕒Time to produce: 5min. This version is Borax Free.

  • Three bars of 4.5 – 5 ounce soap, finely grated (Dr. Bronner's Pure-Castile Bar Soap, or the one you just made ⬆)

If you are washing in cold water, dissolve it in hot water before adding the detergent in.

Soaps - Pretty advanced ;)

2 options are feasible:

1. The easy one is to start with a soap kind of mixture.

2. Use an advanced soap calculator to create your own soap (with the oils and fragrances (essential oils you have at home). I inserted the last recipe we use, very basic soap without any additives.
