Switch off the lights when you leave a room
Don’t waste too much water, I was hoping to never experience it but recently I kindly offer a couchsurfer’s couple to use the washing machine the day after they tell me “wooow we had to wash 3 times our clothes because they were only cold water” they didn’t push the warm button! (You can clean your cloth with cold water it’s actually better ;))
Please sweep and/or vacuum/clean before leaving (pas pour Airbnb ;))
Take your trashes away by recycling them, there are all the appropriate boxes for that.
Communication. I know sometimes it’s pretty hard if you don’t have any Wi-Fi but please share any useful estimates.
Respect my (should I say our?) plastic free philosophy, not saying you should do the same but try to be careful I’ve seen many guests buying plastic water of bottle every day. I can offer you some that you will refill if you don’t have a reusable bottle of water. NYC has an amazing water quality and you will save money ;)
Compostable food (graph on the fridge) to be stored in the freezer (I have a specific bag for it) and I drop it myself in the garden (Hishino is an amazing gardener who kindly accept for my amazing compost :)).
Break something? just let me know I won’t charge you for it depending on the item obviously
