Two pieces of my writing, "Riches in Rags'" and "What if They Lied?" were published in The Paradox of Affluence: Choices, Challenges, Consequences in the Winter of 2011 while participating in Honors English at Mott Community College, where I received my Associate of Arts Degree in December 2013. The focus of my persuasive publication, "What if They Lied?" was on green initiatives and climate change, predominantly as affected in the ski industry. A personal narrative, "Riches in Rags," was based in Saginaw, Michigan and offered a different view of wealth and privilege.
In 2012 I attended a skill building retreat and also participated in the Michigan Honors Association (MHA) Fall Leadership Conference at the Ralph A MacMullen (RAM Center) in Higgins Lake, Michigan. I completed 60 hours of volunteer work and civic engagement, helping to create, and serving as a founding member of Riot Girl Flint. We held meetings, organized fundraisers, and hosted a benefit concert with proceeds going to help women's organizations.
After graduating from Mott, I transferred to the University of Michigan-Flint in 2014. I worked in the Writing Center as a tutor. I also coached at the high school level for 14 seasons and served as paraprofessional before enrolling with EDUStaff, LLC as a substitute teacher.
Through The Michigan Registry I've documented over 85 hours of Early Childhood Education and School Age training including a 40 hour course on Autism and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA Therapy). I passed the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) Registered Behvavior Technican Exam in December of 2020.
I participated in the French Back to Back Exchange Program and studied French for a year prior to visiting France and corresponding with a pen-pal named Gwenaelle. I also took three years of high school and college French.
