9 Daily Agenda and Homework

"There are no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work, and learning from failure."

Colin Powell

Happy End of Year!

Dear Students,

Happy last days of school! You have completed all your essential learning assignments for English 9. Yay! This week I have a brief form for you to complete. If you would like to offer feedback about the class this year, please click this link End of Year Feedback to answer the questions. You will need to sign-in to Office 365 to complete the form.

Thank you for all your hard work these last few months. This was an incredibly challenging learning environment and I know we are all ready for a summer break. I wish that I could say goodbye in person, but hopefully I will see you in the fall. I have really missed teaching in person. I am crossing my fingers that we will be in the building in some capacity in September.

If you need to contact me, I am on email through Tuesday, June 23, 2020. For the rest of the summer, I check email sporadically so contact the office if it is an urgent matter.

Please take care of yourselves and your families.

Sincerely,

Jana White

Welcome Back to School!

Classes start on Wednesday, September 4, 2019

Freshmen come to school at 10:00 am for a morning of Welcome Activities

Classes start after lunch and run on a special schedule with 25 minute periods. Students get to visit all their teachers on Wednesday. I suggest you print a school map and mark a route for getting to your classes. Remember: the First number is the Floor and the second number is the Wing. (I like to think "Floor comes First" to help me remember.) See the afternoon schedule below...

Independent Reading Book

For English this year, you will set independent reading goals and work toward reaching them each quarter. If you already have a book of choice, start bringing it to school on Monday. Otherwise, I will be happy to help you find a book that suits you. There are so many great books out there!

Daily Supplies for English

Please pick up supplies for class and bring them no later than Monday, September 9, 2019. If for any reason this is a hardship for you, please reach out to me. Just email whitej2@issaquah.wednet.edu

You will need the following:

  • 1-inch, 3 ring binder, dedicated to English
  • divider tabs (5 sections)
  • spiral notebook dedicated to English (70-100 pages)
  • pencils and blue/black pens
  • ballpoint red (or alternate colors) pens (just one or two)
  • college rule paper (keep it in the back of your binder)
  • 3 X 5 notecards (keep these at home)
  • sticky notes (keep a pack with you in your backpack or pencil pouch)
  • planner (you can order one through the school or pick up your own)
