This is a committee consisting Student Council members that have volunteered to participate in activities such as welcoming students back the first week of school, passing out notes of encouragement, and further activities that involve spreading positivity and joy throughout our campus.
WHS Student Council participates in the Spirit Exchange Program with other schools that play against our football team in order to promote good sportsmanship. We exchange gifts and take part in a selfie with representatives from both councils.
The students for each grade, led by their class officers, decorate the hallways according to the homecoming themes chosen by our Council. The decorations will be judged by a select group of faculty members and a winner is awarded the Homecoming Bear.
In order to promote school spirit, we organize dress up days for each day during homecoming week. This is meant to get the student body involved in a project led by our council.
Every year our council is in charge of conducting the Homecoming Court nominations. We allow our senior class to nominate their fellow seniors and then we let the whole student body vote on our top 6 candidates. Our homecoming king is announced at our pep rally during school and the homecoming queen is announced at the football game later that evening.
