What is your proudest accomplishment from your time at WGH?
What was your favorite part of being in the band and what is your fondest memory from your years in the band?
Have you been involved in any sports at WGH and what did you like about them?
What advice would you give to incoming freshmen?
What was the most meaningful class you took at WGH and why?
How will this scholarship money impact you?
What is your greatest strength?
What would you like to improve about yourself?
Who is your role model and why?
Have you received any other scholarships?
When finished, be sure to thank the scholarship committee for their time and consideration.
THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND/HELPFUL HINTS
Only one take will be permitted.
The recording should begin with you saying your full name and instrument(s).
The background area should be distraction free (no background noise) with no other person present during the recording. You may need to hang a sign or warn others that recording is taking place.
Double check that in your video, there is more than enough lighting to see your face. Too often, having more light behind you will actually make you appear darker on screen. Try to have light shining in front of you (or even on your face) rather than from behind. Make sure to check it out on whatever device you’re using to record.
In terms of clothing, you should think about this online video as an actual interview; business casual works (if you don’t know what that means - google it).
If you are having trouble, ask a band director for help. We want you to succeed, but do not wait until the last minute to ask!
Please contact Trish DiCesare at trishadicesare@gmail.com with any questions about the application process.
