The lawns are open from the start of April to early October between 10am and 5pm from Sunday to Thursday. There are two full-sized lawns and one half-lawn, although the arrangement can be modified to suit requirements. In addition to our own in-house tournaments and competitions which take place throughout the season, we also participate in the North West Federation of Croquet Clubs handicap Association Croquet, handicap Golf Croquet and Short Lawn leagues, and the Cumbria Tankard, a regional competition for the four Cumbrian croquet clubs.

If you are interested in playing croquet, you would be most welcome to join the Club (click here for a membership registration form) or just come along and get better acquainted with the game. Please remember, however, that the Hall and Gardens are privately owned, so please contact the Club Chairman or Secretary in the first instance (for details, see Find and Contact Us page). Alternatively, why not visit the Hall and make yourself known to a club member whilst roaming the superb gardens.
