This area is located on the central south coast of Trinidad at the western end of the Trinity Hills. It is situated near Trinidad's oil reserves and is said to be the place where Christopher Columbus landed on his third voyage.
This area is primarily a marsh forest type that’s teeming with a vast diversity of wildlife. Although the forest is relatively disturbed, it is a biodiversity hotspot with a high concentration of flora and fauna. The road meanders through the forest between towering trees on both sides.

At this location, you can look high up in the canopy for owls, opossums and other nocturnal animals. Down closer to the ground you can find a high concentration of reptiles, amphibians, arachnids, and insects such as pit-vipers, coral snakes, cat-eyed snakes, tree frogs, anoles, iguanas, tarantulas, scorpions, praying mantises, stick insects and much more.
Participants will meet their tour guides at an easy to find landmark at 6pm then drive to the location from there.
The road to the location starts off paved then switches to a dirt road along the way, so participants are advised to slowly follow their guide's vehicles until they reach the location.
It is ideal to reach on location a few minutes before the tour begins to discuss safety and to familiarize yourself with the environment.
The tour starts at 7pm (sunset) and ends at 10:00 pm.
When participants arrive at the location, all vehicles would be parked at the start of the trail.
Participants would then walk on relatively flat terrain through the forest for approximately 3 hours actively searching for wildlife.
Once an animal is spotted, your guide(s) would give you background information about said animal and answer any questions you may have.
Your guide(s) will allow you to only handle specific animals for a brief moment as to not stress the animal.
NO ANIMAL CAN BE HANDLED WITHOUT AUTHORIZATION FROM YOUR GUIDE.
When the tour ends, participants along with their guide(s) would trek back to their vehicles, have a brief discussion about what was spotted and depart hopefully with increased knowledge and a greater appreciation for T&Ts wildlife.
Please note that there's no 100% guarantee that you will encounter any specific animal.
