Marianne gorge is a series waterfalls and plunge pools located in between towering gorges formed over centuries ago due to the erosion of hard layers of rock worn-away by the continuous flow of water passing over it. It is situated in the lush Northern Range forest near village of Brasso seco.
Driving time to parking spot: Approximately 1 hour 40 minutes
Hike time : 15 minutes to reach the start of the hike & approx. 1 hour to complete the circuit.
Hike intensity : moderate-strenuous

This hike will be done as a circuit which starts with a trail leading through the river to the beginning of first plunge pool and end where we initially started.
Traversing through the gorge can take approximately 1 hour and completing the circuit can take an additional 30 to 45 minutes.
The trek to the beginning of the gorge is approximately 15 minutes long.
It is mandatory that all hikers wear a lifejacket that will be provided to you to make your way through the pools and gorges.
The jumps into the pools are unavoidable and the height of each jump can range from 7-12 feet into pools 12-20 feet pools.
If you have a fear of water, swimming or heights this hike is not suitable for you.
After the last jump into a wide pool, participants can eat, relax or swim around before we head out onto the dry part of the trail.
There will be a few minutes of river trekking before going onto the dry trail that takes you back to the where you initially started the hike.
The terrain of the dry trail is relatively flat with steady inclines.
Once the circuit is completed participants will head back to their vehicles with all their trash and personal belongings.

Double River waterfall is a spectacular waterfall located in the lush Northern Range rainforest near Brasso Seco village. Concealed within a valley, the falls drop from an 89 foot height into a wide shallow pool at the base suitable for bathing and swimming.

Rio seco is one of the most popular and picturesque waterfalls in Trinidad. It is located between the Villages of Balandra and Matura in the North East of the Island. This waterfall is loved for its 15 ft drop and 30 ft deep basin at its base filled with emerald green water which is ideal for bathing and swimming.
The trek to the waterfall is a relatively easy one, which takes the average person 35-40 minutes on a wide open path. Persons who visit will be embraced by the lush green rainforest filled with a plethora of flora and fauna on the entire way to the waterfall. .

Turure water steps is situated on the eastern end of Trinidad, nestled in Cumaca valley, Valencia. It is made up natural limestone that were eroded over the years creating 50 ft wide and 25 feet high steplike formations that greatly resembles a curtain. Each step features jacuzzi like pools filled with a mixture of emerald green and turquoise blue water.

3 Pools is a river destination that features 3 large basins, a 15 feet rock to jump off and a natural water slide. It is located in the village of Blanchisseuse on the northern slope of the Northern range of Trinidad. As its name implies there are three scenic pools to visit as you venture up the Marianne river. The first pool is ideal for non-swimmers and persons who just want to relax as it features shallower waters. Separating the first and second pool is a naturally formed water slide that gives visitors a thrilling experience. The third pool is ideal for persons who are more adventurous as it features rocks to jump off of into deep water.

Mermaid pools is a natural wonder hidden in the Matura village situated in the North-Eastern part of Trinidad. It features a large pool to swim, relax and enjoy the scenic ambiance nature has to offer. Located near the village of Blanchisseuse on the northern coast of Trinidad within the village of Avocat lies one of the easiest waterfall expedition on the island of Trinidad. Avocat falls, originally called 'Gran Fond Falls' by the First peoples/Amerindians, meaning "the river from the sky" is a 50 ft single drop waterfall that features refreshing pools both at the base and at the top of the falls.

La laja waterfall is a tall and narrow 50 ft waterfall that pours into a small pool at the base. It located in the Guanapo Valley in the Heights of Guanapo but is mostly accessed via the Arima-Blanchisseuse Road. There are a combination of other cascading waterfalls at various levels with wider and deeper pools which is great for bathing and swimming short distances.
The La Laja South Road is very bad but it is still drivable to a certain point by 4x4s and vehicles with high ground clearance as there are many 'pot holes' along the way.

Mystery pool is a hidden gem tucked away near the village of Morne La Croix. It gets its name from its mystic, emerald green colour.

TOUR INFORMATION:
Participants would meet guides at a suitable .
Participants would drive and follow guides to Morne La Croix village.
Participants will be briefed on safety and proceed to trek to the pools.
The trek is approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes long. 45 minutes on a trail downhill and 30 minutes upriver passing through various pools.
When it's time to depart, participants will gather their belongings and all trash they came with and hike back to the cars.

The Guanapo gorge is a 30 feet high natural geological gem formed centuries ago by the continuous weathering of sold limestone rocks by the Guanapo river. This marvelous wonder is located in the Heights of Guanapo, nestled in the Northern Range rainforest, Trinidad.

When you arrive at the assembly point please locate our hike leaders wearing West Indian herping shirts. Here, all participants must sign an attendance register.
At 8:00 am participants would drive and follow guides to the Heights of Guanapo.
A TTD $40.00 fee must be paid for car security, per vehicle. (Please walk with change and no large bills)
Participants will be briefed on safety and proceed to trek to the pools.
This gorge exploration will be done in a circuit which starts with a trail going through the forest taking you to the top of the Guanapo river.
The trek to the river is approximately 1 hour long and the time it takes to explore the gorge is 1.5 hours.
There is mandatory swimming and unavoidable jumps (7-10ft) into deep pools (20ft).
Participants will complete the circuit in approximately 2 hours.

The Covigne River Gorge is a hidden gem located in Tucker Valley, Chaguaramas -- West of Trinidad. This 30ft gorge was formed over some time due to the erosion of hard layers of mountainous rock worn-away by the continuous flow of water by a branch of the Cuesa river passing over it.

Quare river is situated in Valencia, East of Trinidad nestled in the heart of the Northern range. It is a beautiful river that supplies water to the Hollis Reservoir. Along the river course there are various emerald plunge pools and cascading waterfalls.
