Lockdown Robotics 2017-18

This year, I joined a community team in San Gabriel. I joined this team because they had a mission plan to help expand in STEM Awareness in their city. Every school in San Gabriel is rated at Title 1 and their school district cannot afford to have STEM programs.

Over the summer, my team and I met every week at the San Gabriel Library to host our Summer STEM Program. At this program, we taught basic engineering through Snap Circuits, Scratch programming, 3D printing, and mini bits. At the events where we showcased our robot, parents were shocked that the school district was not sponsoring any STEM related programs for their students which lead to petitioning.

This year was a completely different experience and I never realized how many STEM classes and clubs I take for granted at Temple City don't exist in other places.
