Accomplishment
Accomplishment (A) involves striving for and achieving meaningful outcomes (Norrish, Robinson & Williams 2013). Research suggests a bi-directional relationship between flourishing and positive accomplishment (Norrish, Robinson & Williams 2013). ¹
"Adopting growth mindsets to deliberately practice more difficult approaches to grow your brain’s abilities so that you can achieve what you set out to do." ²
"Having goals and ambition in life can help us to achieve things that can give us a sense of accomplishment." - Positive Psychology
"First, it is important to acknowledge your goals and your sense of accomplishment, not to compare to others’ goals and accomplishments. Second, there is a wonderful positive psychology concept called “to savor”, or as my mother would say 'to relish in the moment'". - The Positive Psychology People

A Gritty Person - Reflect on someone in your life, or someone you know of, who you admire and who has shown grit to overcome difficulties and get the task(s) completed. Share with a friend or family member, or write it down.
Growth Mindset - Spend time on the Growth Mindset Character Strength page to give you ideas to move out of areas of your life where you experience a fixed mindset.
How Is the A of My PERMAH Today & Tomorrow? - Use this worksheet to drill down on the current state of your positive emotions while also planning for tomorrow.
Mentoring - Look to connect with contacts who can provide some mentoring support. You can also work with a life coach.
Mindsets – Favorite Mistake - Think about or write down a few mistakes you made in your work or personal life in the last couple of months. Focus on the ones you learned from. Record the lessons learned or insight gained.
Passion Project - Set aside time and effort to pursue a project in which you learn, grow, and experience accomplishment.
Self-Determination and Intrinsic Motivation - Self Determination Theory lists three factors (purpose, autonomy, mastery) for human motivation. Let's do an exercise to see when you were intrinsically motivated> (Purpose). When was a time when you felt motivated to do something meaningful and purposeful or something that would benefit others? (Autonomy) When have you felt ownership of your work or a task and were able to make your own choices? (Mastery) When have you been motivated to get better at something that mattered to you?
Self-Motivation - Sometimes it takes a little extra effort to take on tasks and new opportunities. :) Here is a listing of strategies to get you moving.
Three Hard Things - Record three hard things that you have done recently. Explain what made each of them difficult. Include how you accomplished them and which strengths helped you.
Win the Morning - Get up a few minutes earlier, exercise, meditate, or practice mindfulness. Only do some of these. Instead, choose the one that you like the most. It feels great to start the day proactively on the right foot rather than reactively by sleeping in, rolling over, and checking emails on your phone.
WOOP - Use the WOOP goal-setting approach to reach for specific accomplishments. (WOOP Worksheet)
