An accessible, and sufficiently detailed, source of reliable information about the needs and experiences of BLACK QUEER MEN that can be used to inform policy-making, empower Black Queer Men's advocacy, and spark engagement with our concerns among research, tech, and civil society innovators
Collection, use, and management, of data about Black Queer Men, is only made so vitally necessary because services are managed as a competition between citizens for limited resources, adjudicated by 'neutral' public servants.
At base, demand for ‘perfect information’ before action, is due to the social distance between Black queer men and those making policy or resource decisions on their behalf.
We need systems that design and deliver services with rather than for Black queer men; meeting them where they are, valuing differences, sharing risks, reward, and accountability; building trust/ networks with and among them.
