Flat Racing

Flat racing showcases the athleticism, speed, and precision of the horse, and the strategic skill of the rider. Whether on sand or turf, it’s a thrilling spectacle of equine power.

Races are run on dirt-based track, except for steeplechase which is run on turf-based track. A maximum of 15 horses may participate in one start. However, in steeplechase, the maximum is 18.

Rules

Horses begin from starting gates; false starts may lead to disqualification.
Jockeys must meet specific weight requirements, including saddle and gear.
Riders must not obstruct or endanger others; interference can result in penalties or disqualification.
The horse’s muzzle crossing the line first determines the winner.
If a jockey falls off, remounting is not allowed
