Girl Scouts San Diego
Girl Scouts San Diego
a High Adventure & Service Troop
WayFinders is an additional troop that middle & high school scouts can join to extend their Girl Scout experience to the outdoors and also give back to nature. Scouts can continue to be part of their home troop & join us for adventures & service. Or WayFinders can serve as their primary troop. Each year, the scouts and their parents organize a mix of smaller, local adventures, with 1-2 larger adventures per year. Meetings to plan logistics are held virtually. Adventures generally incorporate a service project.
In addition, we have a few in-person meetings to focus on:
1) Getting to know each other
2) Skill Building - to gain the skills necessary for various adventures
Girl Scouts builds girls of:
COURAGE, CONFIDENCE, & CHARACTER
Trying new activities and overcoming obstacles when something goes wrong encourages flexible thinking and builds COURAGE.
Doing hard things and learning new skills is empowering and creates mental strength, both of which build CONFIDENCE.
Adventuring together with different types of personalities, providing service to others, and giving back to nature all encourage girls to think beyond themselves, which builds CHARACTER.
