Blood Drive: May 19th during School hours!
The biannual blood drive at the Washingtonville High School is an amazing service opportunity. Prior to the blood drive, JROTC will set up posters and flyers for the blood drive to get more people to sign up. In the days prior to the drive during all four lunches, we have 2 cadets sit at a table with sign up sheets for the blood drive, we even have a costume that resembles a cartoon blood drop as our blood drive mascot to encourage students to donate. In the morning of the blood drive, senior staff will come into school early to help set everything up in the school’s library. Once everything is set, we then have students from the JROTC classes come into the blood drive to help aid the blood donors and make sure no one gets hurt or ill. This counts as service hours so each student will have service hours added to their resumes.
