The lavender field has over 100 lavender plants of different varieties. We grow English lavender, French lavender, Spanish lavender, and white lavender. We planted this field of lovely flowers for our bees. As our lavender grows year round, it gives the bees plenty of foraging opportunities in the fall and winter when the other flowering plants and trees are not available. We love seeing the bees enjoying the lavender during the months of the year when other flowers are in short supply. We also use the lavender in our soaps, sachets, and bouquets, teas and seasoning blends. We only use the French lavender in our teas and seasoning blends.
Our lavender field was planted years ago when we became bee keepers, and we grow several varieties. While the lavender flowers provide year round forage for them the nectar also adds a unique flavor to our honey. Most of our lavender is English lavender, and the French lavender is what we use for our teas and seasoning blends. The amount we use in our products is a small amount of what we grow. Sitting next to the lavender field while sipping on our Chamomile Lavender Tea or a glass of wine while watching the bees go from flower to flower is a lovely experience and our customers love to do this on our Farm Days.
