The next open gym will be for Level 2/3. We'll be doing it after school tomorrow (Monday, 5/18) until 4:30 pm. If you have not turned in your waiver, please do so, only students that have turned in the waiver will be able to play. See you after school tomorrow.
UPDATE - May 13th, 2026
There is an awards ceremony happening in the gym tonight, so let's shoot for tomorrow for the next open gym session. This will be for Level 1 only. I'll update on the Level 2/3 open gyms. Hopefully, sometime this weekend will work.
Level 1 open gym cancelled Wednesday 5/13
Level 1 open gym rescheduled for Thursday 5/14, 7-8:30pm
UPDATE - May 12th, 2026
We'll have the Level 1 crew in tomorrow, Wednesday 5/13 from 7-8:30pm. I'll let everyone know when the next Level 2 open gym will be soon.
UPDATE - MAY 4th, 2026
I will be out of town this weekend, so I'll only be able to host 1 open gym this week. Starting next week, I should be able to offer more options for open gyms, including after school on some days.
This weeks' open gym will be for Level 2 only. Our normal Wednesday time, 7:30-9pm. I'm looking forward to having open gyms scheduled more frequently in the future!
UPDATE - MAY 1st, 2026
We had 23 people at the level 1 open gym on Wednesday and did a little dribbling practice at the beginning. The gym is not available today or this weekend, so no level 2 open gym this week. We'll pick things up next week. I'll send out an update soon.
UPDATE - APRIL 24, 2026
Hi everyone,
Thank you again to everyone who has been coming out to the open gyms—great energy and continued improvement across the board. I've had the chance to get a look at the skills on display, and I plan to add a skills training component at each level to create growth through the synergy of experience and skill on the basketball court.
We will be adding a Level 2 Open Gym this Sunday from 6:00–7:30 PM (NO OPEN GYM TODAY 4/24). This session is intended for players in the Level 2 group (intermediate/advanced, faster-paced play). I plan to add an additional level to this program to keep the students in attendance at every session under 20 (we've had more than 50 different students show up so far for Level 1 and 2). Be on the lookout for related updates.
Looking forward to seeing the Level 2 group on Sunday!
UPDATE - APRIL 22, 2026
Last week, we were only able to have the level 2 open gym on Friday (24 students in attendance). To those of you who attended last Friday, please do not attend today's open gym, with one exception: you feel you are better placed in the level 1 group. Looking forward to seeing the Level 1 crew tonight, and I'll update later about the Level 2 open gym this week.
UPDATE - APRIL 15, 2026
Sorry folks, there is a talent show occupying the gym tonight and we need to cancel tonight's level 1 open gym.
UPDATE – APRIL 13, 2026
Hi everyone,
Last week’s open gym was a huge success, with 32 students in attendance. It was great to see so much enthusiasm, energy, and love for the game. The majority of players were 5th and 6th graders, with a few 7th graders mixed in, and overall it was a really fun and positive environment.
To make sure each player gets the most out of their experience, I’ll be splitting this week’s open gyms into two groups based on experience level:
Wednesday – Level 1 (Beginner / Developing Players)
Focused on fundamentals, learning the game, and building confidence.
Friday – Level 2 (Intermediate / Advanced Players)
Designed for players who are ready for a faster pace, more competitive play, and higher-level concepts.
Players selected for Level 2 (Friday) will be contacted directly. All other players should plan to attend Wednesday’s Level 1 session.
If you didn't attend last week, and are interested in attending this week, please come to the level 1 open gym.Â
This structure will allow us to create a better experience for everyone—more touches, more learning, and more competitive games at the right level.
Looking forward to another great week!
