Walters Grants
The Warriors Community Connection offers these grants to provide a means to achieve BIG goals that serve Walters’ students. Funds may be used to support school programming related to student educational or social-emotional outcomes.
Funds may not be used for incentives, gifts, or food (unless used in a lesson). While grants may augment curriculum and classroom materials, they are not meant to replace materials provided by the district and/or school.

Ms. Paolini - $170 - 6th Grade English/History
At the beginning of the year, I like to read - Maroo of the Winter Caves novel with my students. The novel selected will not only be used for studying reading comprehension, character development, figurative language, and events but reinforce our History concepts as well (Paleolithic Era and Ice Age ). Having a full set of this novel will allow each of my students to have their book to use during our unit. I am determined to expand my core novel selection with a more diverse selection of genres and expose my students to a variety of literature. Thank you, PTO, for your support.
Ms. Chandna - $500 - Math Club
Math Competitions for the Math Club at Walters - We have a math club where students are prepared to participate in math contests. The most popular contests are MOEMS (Junior Math Olympiad), AMC 8 (American Mathematics Competition), Math League, and Math Kangaroo.
We register for all the contests through school. The cost of registration for all contests, excluding Math Kangaroo, is approximately $900-$1000.
Ms. Lam and Ms. McHenry - $250 each - Headphones
The headphones in their classroom were not in adequate condition. They purchase headphones to use for their students.
School counselors (Ms. Yepez, Ms. Gai, Ms. and Gonzalez) - $300 - Backpacks and school supplies
New students often arrive at school without the essential supplies they need. To address this, counselors aim to provide students with backpacks and school supplies.
