Boreal Warden (Enormous) Crown of the Tundra
Habitats: Tundra, Redwoods, Central Rockfaces
Territorial: No
Diet: Plants
Nesting Season: Fall, Winter, Famine
Nesting Grounds: Tundra
Solo creature
Important Notes:
-WARDEN’S RAGE: Use whenever (active version)
-Wanders across habitats
-Extremely intelligent, capable of telepathic communication
-Nests offspring until a female is born, the mother dies upon adulthood
Description: A titan of frost, a true testament to Sonaria’s vastness. Boreal Wardens are larger than life and have all the strength of said testament. Despite this, like all Wardens, these behemoths rest on the edges of the world in silence. When threatened by larger predators, like Kendylls and Kavouradis’, Boreal Wardens will attack with little hesitation; though their apathy to all but the mountains leaves them unwilling to herd with similar herbivores. As the figurehead of the Wardens, the Boreal Warden is able to telepathically communicate with other Wardens.
Description: Boreals are constantly on the move, highly preferring sweet cherries or berries over grass. Besides other Wardens and Warden creations like Urzuk and Ghartokus, they will completely ignore any creature in their path because of their severe inferiority, but also simply because of its enormous size compared to every single creature. This lack of communication between regular creatures can be an exception when given many offerings of cherries in return for communication with the great Boreal Warden that holds the crown of the Tundra. Boreal is known to give wise information and advice due to their ability to telepathically communicate. But, the Boreal can choose to decline if not given enough offerings of food, or if the offerings have been nibbled through already. After the offerings have been completely eaten through, the Boreal will depart from the creatures that gave the offerings, preferring to travel over sitting with others for a while.
Pact of the Wardens: When it is time to pass on their life to the next Boreal Warden, they will spend the last season of their life meditating at the highest peaks of the world, praying in communion. All Warden species applicable to this pact are asexual, and will have children until a female heir has hatched. When a female heir becomes an adult, the parent will take their life, repeating the cycle. Upon the Boreal Warden’s succession, the mother warden’s body breaks down into a storm of snowflakes, causing a mountainous blizzard upon the Tundra.

Ghartokus (Enormous) Wardens Wisdom Traveler
Habitats: Any
Territorial: No
Diet: Bot Meat, Scavenged Meat
Nesting Season: Spring, Sakura
Nesting Grounds: Swamp
Solo creature
Important Notes:
-FORTIFY: Do not use
-Only one parent fights the enemy while the other runs and protects the children (other parent fights if children are still in danger)
Description: Ghartokus, like Urzuk, was created in the Wardens image. With its Ardor flower on its back, its Novus runes a part of its skin, and even Hellions colors, a part of every warden lies within Ghartokus. Ghar was blessed by all of the wardens, and as a gift, it never has to feel the pain of starvation, and therefore never has the need to hunt. Despite being quite new to Sonaria, it still has almost infinite knowledge of the Wardens and their history.
Behavior: Ghars are quite a peaceful and loving species, despite their aggressive look and intimidating size. Every season or two, Ghartokus travels to a different statue. The Warden statues bring peace and wisdom to Ghars and allows it to continue teaching Sonaria the ways of the Wardens. While there are some it cannot reach, it can still feel their powerful presence when getting close enough. When interacting with others, they typically exchange unique experiences with each other. As a token of appreciation, Ghars love to give a cherry at the end of every interaction, as it is a way of blessing the other creatures with good health and fortune.
Mating and Nesting: During the peaceful times of Spring or Sakura, Ghars will meet together at the shrine of love, also known as the Ardor shrine. There are never any fights nor qualms, and only focus on having at least one male and female. Pairs typically nest near each other at the swamp. Once the 1-2 babies are born, the parents will take care of and protect them. During childhood, the baby Ghars will be shown all the wonders of the Wardens. If by chance the family is attacked, one parent will run away with the children, while the other stands its ground and fights, even if it dies. Once the children reach adulthood, they will all go their separate ways.
The Wardens: Any creature associated with the Wardens, such as Gurava or Urzuk, tend to be treated a bit differently by Ghartokus. Since they both relate to dedicating time with the Wardens, Ghar especially loves to be around them and learn even more. But, nothing compares to meeting an actual Warden in the flesh. If by chance a Ghartokus has the amazing and rare opportunity to meet a Warden, it will dedicate its whole life to make sure the Warden has everything it needs. Even during Mystic or Wardens Nebula when there is a Warden, it will go against its own calm demeanor and sacrifice a creature for a Warden, showing its dedication, and eating the carcass if the Warden is a herbivore. If a Warden shoos away the Ghar, it must obey and leave it alone. They never see this as a punishment or anything of the sorts; it is merely the rightful call of the Wardens.

Hellion Warden (Enormous) Intelligent Prankster
Habitats: Desert, Volcano, Pride Rocks
Territorial: Highly
Diet: Plants, Scavenged Meat, Hunted Meat
Nesting Season: Any
Nesting Grounds: Desert
Solo creature
Important Notes:
-SHOCK AREA: Use when playing tricks on creatures
-WARDEN’S RAGE: Use whenever (active version)
-Has no preference for food; will eat what is most convenient/available nearby
-Male offspring are killed and eaten, the eldest female becomes the heir; mother warden dies (resets) when the heir becomes an adult
-Do not kill trespassers, only attack if they refuse to leave
-Only territorial around its den, especially when nesting
Description: One of the most powerful and intelligent creatures in Sonaria, the Hellion Warden is a massive beast of unmatched strength and raw endurance. Adorned with a signature warden mask and impressive horns, its armored body is covered in bioluminescent bulbs with an exceptionally long tail ending in a toothed jaw. The jaw itself plays no part in digestion, but it is prehensile, able to clamp onto objects and creatures like a bear trap. Its bulky extra pair of legs is primarily used for climbing, running short distances, and digging dens for nesting. This creature’s bellows can be heard from miles away.
Behavior: In legends, it is referred to as both a guardian and a terror, but it does not consider itself as either. This unpredictable warden is self-aware of its power and capability of violence, yet chooses not to use it. Instead, it fills its long lifespan traveling and amusing itself by playing tricks on creatures. Whether it be sneaking up behind a flock of Peros and roaring, or stealing a creature away from its pack just to care for it “for fun”, its creativity for mischief is unmatched by all. However, the Hellion Warden does not make friends and chooses a loner lifestyle. If a creature tries to be friendly or comes too close to it, it scares it off, but usually a roar and aggressive pose is all it takes. The warden is highly territorial and prefers only food in its den besides itself.
Nesting: Nesting only once in its two-hundred-year-long lifetime, the single Hellion Warden is always well-prepared for this rare event. First, she builds her nest in a secluded cave, and then incubates a clutch of three eggs. If any of the young are male, the warden immediately kills the newborn(s) to feed her daughter and herself. Among multiple female offspring, the youngest are cannibalized. The mother warden incubates clutches until the first female heir is hatched. The daughter stays very close to the mother, sticking with her until adulthood, who learns to lead a solitary life until the cycle must repeat itself once more.
Pact of the Wardens: All Warden species applicable to this pact are asexual, and will have children until a female heir has hatched. When a female heir becomes an adult, the parent will take their life, repeating the cycle. Upon the Hellion Warden’s succession, the parent warden’s body shuts down and melts into sand.

Hygos (Enormous) Aggressive Ambusher
Habitats: Flower Cove, Redwoods, Swamp
Territorial: Highly
Diet: Hunted Meat
Nesting Season: Any
Nesting Grounds: Within territory
Solo creature
Important Notes:
-Establish a territory and return to it when possible
Description: Hygos are peculiarly evolved organisms boasting a ceaseless, emotionless perspective towards reality. What moves is effectively food, and what does not is of little importance. This black and white perspective allows the degradation of rational thought, and, in combination with a dual circulatory system of blood and chlorophyll, draws more on floral instinct than faunal desire. For those unfortunate enough to come across this beast, not even cries of mercy can bleed through an ocean of numbing deafness.
Behavior: In reiteration, Hygos exist barely on the verge of intellect. Limited senses restrict hunting to vibrational and olfactory means. Their profoundly large but light frame circulates carbon dioxide throughout itself, sensing the most minuscule of pheromone traces and faint vibrations oscillating in the air. Areas of lush vegetation, rainfall, and sunlight naturally draw in the residency of Hygos. As apexes of their photocarnivore niche, these regions have no need to be contested over. For those unfortunate enough to enter a domain, death is quick and efficient, equally so meaning that Hygos will not extensively chase down prey per restrictions of energy. Reproduction wise, Hygos carry ‘seeds’ within their thorns. After rubbing against a tree or other firm plant-like structure, said thorns break off, beginning the process of maturation in a woody egg sac growing off of the host plant. Other large photocarni or photovore species are not immune to being infected with this parasitic system of reproduction.
Cannibalism: Flaw or feature, the stocky build and ambushing speeds of Hygos make for constant hunger. However, due to the fear their presence elicits, entire forests may be abandoned by lower tiers, leading the inhabiting Hygos to eventually encounter each other. In these situations, brutal showdowns of fang and xylem last until a single victor remains. For hunger, Hygos may venture into unorthodox territories.
