Starting XI
Since Sam Johnstone has arrived at the club, Jose hasn't been given the opportunity to prove himself however seized his opportunity against Man City. If it wasn't for Jose, City could've had a many more goals than they finished the game with. His kicking also seemed much better than usual, a very strong performance.
A professional defensive display for Nelson who managed to keep Jeremy Doku and whoever else he had to mark quiet for the large majority of the game. His assist for Larsen's goal was also spectacular.
Similarly to Jose, he hasn't been given much of an opportunity but despite this, put in a very solid performance on the weekend against a very strong side. Looked calm, and composed on the ball and defensively sound. Would love to see him be given more of a chance in the near future.
Ballon D'awson. Pocketed Erling Haaland as he usually does when we face Man City. Looks much better in the back 5 than he does in a 4, perhaps it will work better in the future too?
Probably the weakest of the back 3 on Sunday but didn't have a poor game by any means. Hasn't been fantastic as of late so better to see a slightly more comfortable performance from Toti. Similarly to Dawson, seems to suit a 5 much better.
Fairly good game but nothing special, especially not for his standards. Not the type of game that suits him really, better where he has more freedom and license which he doesn't really get against Man City, as does no one.
Had a decent first half but was subbed at half time by O'Neil due to not meeting the 'detail' of the game. Hard to give him a higher rating.
Worked his socks off, was everywhere. Seemed he was trying to do everything at times with minimal support. Good performance.
Decent performance, just looks tired to be honest. Maybe requires a rest?
For his standards, a quiet game. Similar to Ait-Nouri, not the type of game which suits him.
Another good performance. Doesn't stop running and another goal taking his tally up to 3 goals this season. In this Wolves team where he gets little to no support, he's doing very well.
Subs
Came on for Andre at half-time for Andre. Due to the type of game, as well as everyone elsem it's hard to rate everyone. We didn't get much of the ball but without it, everyone did well off the ball, including Tommy.
Didn't have too long on the pitch but looked lively when he came on. With the lack of other attacking options with him, he did quite well.
Came on late so didn't get much of a chance to prove themselves so it would be unfair to rate them.
