This Saturday, Wolves take the long journey to the Amex Stadium to take on Brighton and Hove Albion who currently sit 5th in the Premier League. Brighton are coming off of a successful victory away at Newcastle whereas Wolves are coming off of a narrow defeat to Manchester City, hoping to turn their fortunes around. Wolves conceded a 94th minute winner against City scored by John Stones from a corner in front of the North Bank. Wolves had held on well up until this point keeping the score even for the large majority of the game. This seems to just pile onto the many unfortunate circumstances Wolves have experienced this season. Brighton however are having a great start to the season under new manager Fabian Hurzeler and have only lost 1 game so far this season which was against Chelsea at the end of September. This game will be as difficult as any other in this league and Brighton will for sure be the favourites for this tie.
In recent years, Brighton have become a 'bogey team' for Wolves who rarely have any success against Brighton. The most recent success against them came in the FA Cup from last season where Wolves managed a 1-0 victory over them which took them into the quarter finals where Wolves would take on Coventry and.. let's not talk about that..
Danny Welbeck is the man in form for Brighton this season having scored 5 goals and managed 1 assist in their openeing 8 games this Season. However, reports are coming out that Welbeck may be a doubt for this Weekend's fixture which could be a blessing for Wolves.
For Wolves, Matheus Cunha and Jorgen Strand Larsen are the two most likely players to cause Brighton any damage, likely from a counter attack.
Following on from last weekend's defeat against Man City, where defensively we looked much more secure, I'd be very surprised to see Gary O'Neil move away from that set up again. The only alteration I could see happening, and would be in favour of is one of the central midifelders being dropped for another attacker. The most likely of the three to get dropped would be new signing Andre for me, and the attacker coming in could be anyone from Carlos Forbs or even Pablo Sarabia, who has not been given much of a chance so far this season.
