In January 2005, Lake Denton flooded due to a five day rainstorm. The town of Denton was devastated due to its close proximity, and Ramsey was affected as well due to its low elevation compared to the lake. Walker Creek was only slightly affected. Mayor Jones immediately signed the Denton Relief Package bill in order to alleviate the economic suffering, which led to a huge boost in support. Residents from Walker Creek assisted heavily, bringing food, supplies, and labor into Denton and Ramsey. Residents that lost their homes were able to stay with many Walker Creek residents. After two weeks, power was restored. After 6 months, Ramsey was fully recovered and Denton was in the process of being repaired and the residents were back in their homes.
17 humans died in the flood, and 7 Hosts were also killed. Luckily, nobody integral to our leadership was harmed. However, the minor flooding in Walker Creek, mainly from the rainfall and not Lake Denton, had consequences. The Home was partially flooded, leading to the deaths of 82 of our un-hosted kin. This tragic blow reduced the morale among Hosts, though it led to our vengeance. 22 residents of Ramsey and Denton that were staying in the homes of Walker Creek Hosts underwent the Hosting Process.
