This includes but is not limited to the following:
As an informed practitioner, exercise professional judgment when providing professional services.
Become familiar with the body of rules governing the practice of the professions in New York State.
Be sensitive to professional ethics.
Stay abreast of current issues in the health and mental health literature, especially the literature in your area(s) of expertise.
Critically evaluate the context, including source, application, and results, of publicized findings regarding issues.
Be aware of the issues concerning best practice, empirically supported treatments, and evidence based practice by taking courses, attending conferences/workshops, etc. to maintain continuing professional competence.
Be aware of the usual and customary practice in an area.
Know the boundaries of and utility of interventions chosen.
Know the limitations/restrictions of patient characteristics as benefiting from empirically supported treatments to determine whether the recommended treatment is applicable.
Make efforts to insure culturally competent practices which reflect knowledge of the impact of diversity on human behavior.
Document your professional decisions about appropriate client care needs in your records, demonstrating your awareness of ethical and legal codes of professional practice.
When you select treatments, be appropriately trained to implement these treatments competently.
Regardless of the policies, practices or contracts with third party payers or other outside external agencies and entities, know that treatment decisions are ultimately the responsibility of the practitioner.
Important: NYS regulates and restricts the use of the title "Psychologist" and "Mental Health Professional." Therefore, a coach certified within any of the specialties is prohibited to use and/or represent himself/herself with any title or license regulated by the State of New York
Wellness Specialties
We offer through the Wellness Alliance Foundation professional specializations in all different types of wellness such as executive leadership, physical and emotional wellness, performance, educational & career development, business fundamentals: home economics, freelance & corporate, family dynamics and children development, and life coaching. We have classified our extensive content into six key wellness specialties: Leadership, Health and Wellness, Organizational, Activism, Finances, and Life.
Customized Training & Professional Sponsorships
Together we will design a professional program that fits your educational background, career goals, research interest, and life experiences through one or a combination of our six specialties. Each specialty consist of 30 or 60 Continuing Education Credits based on the following Sliding Scale: 30 Credits $1000-$1500 or 60 Credits $2000-$2500. * Scholarships for those with low income or confronting financial hardship.
Continuing Education Credits: 30 CE-Credits (Holders of a Masters Degree) - 60 CE-Credits (Holders of a High School or Undergraduate Degree). * Scholarships: details will be provided during free consultation/interview).
