What is a Gleaning Network?

A Gleaning Network plays an important role in creating food recovery infrastructure, a kind of united front which allows us to more effectively meet our goals and the goals of Washington state to reduce food waste while providing those in need with access to healthy, local, food.

This network helps lobby for changes in local policies, provide a space to share ideas, support and resources as well as help funders understand the importance and potential impact of our gleaning efforts.

Can you share some examples of a working gleaning network?

Some excellent examples include Salvation Farms in Vermont and Table 2 Table in Iowa. Both of these networks  came to speak with us in our April and May meetings. Click here to access the Recordings page.

Who can I contact for more information?

Sarah Armbruster is our network coordinator for this project. Check out Our Team for more!
