Though this toolkit is more specifically for entrepreneurs entering the market with a medical technology startup, there are questions that any entrepreneur should be cognizant of while creating their startup or as they get further into the development process.
I hope that these questions and relevant case studies help you as you are ideating your startup. It is important to note here that you will not face every barrier that is listed in this toolkit. You should be able to pick and choose a few key areas that you should work on and think about these questions throughout your design process. This toolkit is not meant to be completed in a day because you cannot overcome every single barrier in a day.
Especially in the fast paced lifestyle of an entrepreneur, it is important to not let every little detail bring you down and make the task at hand seemingly impossible. Though these all are important considerations, they should not be the basis of your business model, but rather a barrier that you want to plan to overcome so you are more prepared if you end up actually encountering the barrier.
Creating a startup is a difficult process and the entire culture surrounding startups is to learn from your own failures. I certainly did the same as you can see through my personal case study. As you look back, the most important part of a startup is that it stays true to who you are and what you wanted out of the company in the first place. While it is easy to fail, especially starting out as an entrepreneur, the only thing you can do is to pick yourself back up and try again.
