These images show what might be possible at the PARC property if Plymouth city & township voters approve a property millage in the vote on November 6.
In addition to the funds that the millage would raise, donors are ready to give millions more. Together, the public and private funds will support the much-needed renovation & upgrade of the current facility, and the construction of a new nonprofit performing arts center.
Please note: These are architectural drawings of what could be, not a final plan.
The 100-year-old PARC facility was once a high school and then a middle school. Since 2015, it has been an a nonprofit arts and recreation center for the entire Plymouth community. But this centrally located gem needs many repairs, renovations and infrastructure upgrades, which the current funding model can't support.
The existing facility, at the right of the image in orange, has served the entire community as an arts and recreation center since August 2015, but needs renovation. The proposed new nonprofit performing arts facility, at center in orange, would serve the area's high unmet demand for performance space, and generate revenue to fuel the entire nonprofit PARC operation.
A vision of what the new, nonprofit performing arts center could look like. PARC has already received expressions of interest from performing arts groups of all kinds. An independent study shows the 800-seat center would help fill a major unmet need for performance space.
This shows how the existing and new facilities would fit together. The parking lot would be continuous with that of the existing city-owned Plymouth Cultural Center & Ice Arena, which is just out of the image at top right.
