Miriam Christina Reiss

Miriam is a geophysicist and Junior Professor for Volcano Seismology at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, Germany. Her research focuses on using seismic, infrasound and geodetic observations to investigate volcanic systems and the physical processes that occur before and during eruptions. She earned her Ph.D. in geosciences from Goethe University Frankfurt and was a postdoctoral researcher at Yale University and Goethe University Frankfurt before joining JGU Mainz. Her work aims to improve understanding of magma movement, rock fracturing, and the seismic signals associated with volcanic activity.
