Ingredients
250 g of acacia honey
500 ml of ethyl alcohol
250 ml of water
Flavours: cinnamon, bay laurel, citrus lemon and orange, cinnamon, star anise, mint and pink pepper
Procedure
In a small saucepan, combine the water and honey.
Heat over medium heat, stirring until the honey dissolves completely in the water. Do not boil, keep the water at 60°.
Once dissolved, remove from heat and let cool.
Flavouring:
Add the aromas (cinnamon, bay leaf, lemon and orange citrus, cinnamon, star anise, mint and pink pepper)
Put these ingredients in the saucepan while the syrup is hot and leave to infuse for about 30 minutes.
Union with Alcohol:
In a glass container, pour the cooled honey syrup and add the alcohol.
Mix well to combine the ingredients.
Fermentation:
Close the bottle and store it in a cool, dark place.
Let it sit for 45 days. The longer you leave it, the more intense the flavor will be.
Filtering and Bottling:
After the maturation period, filter the liquor to remove sediment and solid aromas.
Bottle the liquor in clean and sterilized bottles.
You can serve honey liqueur cold or at room temperature. It is delicious on its own or as an ingredient in cocktails.
Honey liqueur can be stored in the refrigerator or in a cool, dark place. It has a good shelf life, thanks to its high sugar and alcohol content.
Ingredients
50 grams of extra virgin olive oil
40 grams of chamomile infusion
10 grams of beeswax
1 teaspoon of honey
1-2 drops of essential oil (e.g. lavender, tea tree)
Procedure
In a small saucepan in a bain-marie, melt the beeswax with the extra virgin olive oil (temperature of about 60°C)
prepare a chamomile infusion (temperature of about 60°C)
With the minipimer (disinfected) mix the oil and the wax by slowly dripping the chamomile infusion (create an emulsion): leave the minipimer immersed so as not to incorporate air.
Add the honey and mix well until you obtain a homogeneous consistency.
If you wish, add a few drops of essential oil and mix again.
Pour the cream into a clean and sterilized container. Let it cool completely before closing.
Store the cream in a cool and dry place. It can last up to 3 months.
Necessary Materials
Wax sheet, sheet used for frames.
Wicks: Wicks of cotton or hemp.
Procedure
The procedure is very simple: simply roll up the wax sheet of the desired size with a wick in the center.
Necessary Materials
Beeswax: You can buy it in pellets or blocks.
Honey: To add aroma and sweetness.
Wicks: Cotton or hemp wicks.
Double boiler: To melt the wax.
Containers or molds: To shape the candles (glass, silicone, etc.).
Procedure
Wax Preparation:
Place the beeswax in a double boiler. Melt it over low heat, stirring gently.
Adding Honey:
Once the wax is completely melted, add the honey. The amount can vary, but a common ratio is 1 part honey to 4 parts wax. Stir well to combine.
Preparing the Wicks:
If you are not using pre-made wicks, prepare your own wicks by tying cotton to a holder to hold them in place.
Wax Pouring:
Pour the wax and honey mixture into containers or molds, leaving room for the wick.
Wick Placement:
Place the wick in the center of each container. You can use a piece of tape to hold it upright.
Cooling:
Let the candles cool at room temperature until the wax solidifies.
Finish:
Once solidified, cut the wick to the desired height and your candle is ready to be used!
Ingredients:
300g olive oil
130g sunflower oil
50g coconut oil
150g water
61.5g caustic soda
20g beeswax
1 tablespoon honey
Essential oils to taste
Procedure:
weigh the caustic soda and weigh the water
pour the soda into the water very carefully (use gloves and glasses to protect yourself from any splashes)
stir and set aside; the soda reacts with an exothermic reaction until it reaches 80°: you could burn yourself!
While the soda reacts, prepare the coconut oil with the wax in a saucepan and heat slightly to melt the wax
weigh the olive oil and the sunflower seed oil and add the wax first and then the caustic solution
mix well for a minute
immerse the minipimer and blend until it has a creamy consistency (called ribbon)
add the honey and essential oils to taste (cinnamon, orange peel, dried flowers etc.)
put into the molds
after 24/48 hours unmold and cut your soap as desired
let it rest for 30 or 40 days in a dry place
