Voice It In Action
VOICE IT IN ACTION (VIIA) is a Non-Profit Company (NPC) and Public Benefit Organisation (PBO) that was founded by Kgothatso Moloto, to curb the heightened violent culture witnessed in South Africa, through innovative solutions. VIIA seeks to create a more harmonised society, to confronting and creating solutions on issues grounded in on and around violence and to raise awareness on violence against Men, Women and Children.
VOICE IT IN ACTION was formed after the traumatic incident of a kidnapping and eventual murder of Ipeleng Christine Moholane (age 19) in 2015. This was an eye opener to this grave problem faced by many people, especially women and children in South Africa and in the world. In South Africa alone, a girl goes missing or a body is found every day, and this does not affect women and girls, but also men and boys. – Ipeleng will forever be missed.
One of my missions in life is to advance in the fight against the increasing violence in society. In November 2016 I decided to focus fully on the organisation; Voice It In Action to serve this purpose.
The daily reports of murders, rapes, petty crimes and thefts have left me in a state of panic and fear regarding the safety and security crisis faced in our country, this affects not only my family and friends but my community and the society at large. The brutal murder of a dear friend (Ipeleng Christine Moholane in 2015) opened my eyes in a painful way and do not I wish for something of this nature to happen to anyone else! I will there continue this fight until the day I die.
I will not sit on the sideline and watch as the challenges continues to wreak havoc. I pledge to Be The Change I Want to See
MISSION STATEMENT:
Voice It In Action’s mission is to stand and fight against violence and its effects in the community in order to protect those who need it the most.
AIM - “To unite and fight against Violence” - humanity needs to stand against violence anywhere and everywhere, and take action when exposed to it – Actions which are not violent but preventative in order to reduce this problem.
Motto - “Be the change and help share Love” - thus realising that sharing Love makes it easier to reach across religions, ethnicity and generations.
Vision - “To educate and empower individuals for the future” - Education has a key role to play in changing most problems faced in this world, to create awareness on violence. This needs to happen to get potential solutions that can reach future generations with a good message to reignite the spirit of “Ubuntu” in South Africa.
Challenges/Limitations:
Financial Resources - we request funds/sponsorships to cover the events’ running costs to ensure the successful running of these initiatives.
Human Resources - We invite various entities (individuals, groups, organisations, businesses including government departments) to join us in achieving our goals and objectives.
Important Note: Most of our activities as an Organisation have been run with limited resources - however through collaborations we managed to accomplish various activities since our inception. Regardless of this fact, we believe that we have put our limited resources to good use, we would like to do this better going forward and therefore call on various entities to support, assist, participate, partner and/or contribute - #BeTheChange.
The fight against societal ills is continuous, therefore we will continue to host these campaigns annually during the 16 Days of Activism.
