Voice It In Action
VOICE IT IN ACTION is a Non-Profit Company (NPC) and Public Benefit Organisation (PBO) founded by Kgothatso Moloto to address the escalating culture of violence in South Africa through innovative solutions. VIIA aims to build a more harmonious society by confronting issues rooted in violence, developing practical interventions, and raising awareness about violence against men, women, and children.
VOICE IT IN ACTION was established following the traumatic kidnapping and murder of 19-year-old Ipeleng Christine Moholane in 2015. This tragedy served as a painful reminder of the widespread violence affecting many people—particularly women and children—in South Africa and around the world. In South Africa alone, a girl goes missing or a body is discovered almost daily. This crisis impacts not only women and girls, but also men and boys. Ipeleng will forever be missed.
Voice It In Action’s mission is to stand up against violence and its effects within our communities, protecting those who need it the most.
“To unite and fight against violence.”
Humanity must stand together against violence—anywhere and everywhere—and take action when confronted with it. These actions must be preventative and non-violent, working to reduce the harm and trauma caused by violence in society.
“Be the change and help share love.”
Sharing love and compassion strengthens connections across religions, ethnicities, and generations, reminding us of our shared humanity.
“To educate and empower individuals for the future.”
Education is a key tool in transforming society and addressing the root causes of violence. By creating awareness, we can discover solutions that reach future generations with a powerful message—one that reignites the spirit of Ubuntu in South Africa.
One of my life’s missions is to contribute meaningfully to the fight against the rising levels of violence in our society. In November 2016, I made the decision to fully commit myself to Voice It In Action, dedicating my time and energy to this cause.
The daily reports of murders, rapes, petty crimes, and theft have created a constant sense of fear and panic regarding the safety and security challenges facing our country. This crisis affects not only my family and friends, but also my community and society as a whole. The brutal murder of my dear friend, Ipeleng Christine Moholane, in 2015 opened my eyes in the most painful way. I never want anyone else to experience such heartbreak. For this reason, I will continue this fight for as long as I live.
I refuse to sit on the sidelines while violence continues to devastate lives. I pledge to Be the Change I Want to See.
