Set Up Your Vizio TV
Just bought a new Vizio TV? Whether it's your first smart TV or you're upgrading from an older model, this quick start guide will help you go from unboxing to watching in just a few minutes. No tech skills required—just follow these simple steps.
Carefully remove the TV from the box and lay it screen-up on a soft surface.
Attach the stand using the included screws, or prepare your wall mount if that’s your setup.
Remove all protective plastic and packaging materials.
Place the TV near a power outlet and within range of your Wi-Fi router.
Plug the power cord into the back of the TV and into a wall outlet or surge protector.
Press the Power button on the remote or the TV itself.
The Vizio logo should appear, followed by the setup screen.
Select your language and region.
Choose Home Use when prompted.
Connect to your Wi-Fi network by entering your password.
Accept the terms and conditions to continue.
The TV will automatically check for updates after connecting to Wi-Fi.
If updates are available, install them.
Your TV may restart during this process—this is normal and recommended.
You’ll be asked to sign in to or create a Vizio account.
This gives access to SmartCast features and the Vizio Mobile App.
You can skip this step if you prefer and still access basic functions.
Plug in your cable box, game console, soundbar, or streaming device using HDMI ports.
Use the Input button on the remote to switch between sources.
You can rename inputs (e.g., "PS5" or "Cable") to make them easier to find later.
Press the Home or V button on your remote to open SmartCast.
Browse built-in apps like Netflix, YouTube, Hulu, Disney+, and more.
Sign in with your accounts and start streaming.
Note: Vizio TVs don’t use a traditional app store—you cast unsupported apps from your phone.
