Set Up Your Vizio TV
Got a new Vizio TV and not sure where to start? This guide covers the full first-time setup process: from unboxing to streaming and everything in between. Whether you’re using a 4K, SmartCast, OLED, or QLED model, here’s how to set it up the right way.
Place the TV face-up on a soft, flat surface (like a bed or couch).
Remove all plastic, foam, and tape.
Check the box for the remote, stand legs, screws, power cable, and quick start guide.
Tip: Avoid touching the screen directly during setup.
If using the stand:
Line up the stand legs and secure them with the provided screws.
Use a manual screwdriver—avoid overtightening.
If wall-mounting:
Check the VESA mount size (in the manual or back of the TV).
Mount into wall studs for support.
Position the TV near an outlet and your Wi-Fi router (or Ethernet source).
Connect the power cord to the back of the TV and into a power source.
Press the power button on the TV or remote.
Wait for the Vizio logo and setup screen to appear.
You’ll be guided step by step. Here’s what to expect:
