In this Lab, I developed the map showing global temperature change for two different periods (1989 – 2018) relative to a baseline period(1881-1910 average).
For conducting the Lab, I converted the NetCDF data from NASA Goddard Institute of Space Studies to Raster file in GIS. Also, this lab performed the symbolize and labeling function of ArcGIS for an effective visualization map for visualization.
This map shows the annual average temperature of global data.
The overall locations seem that the average temperature has increased over time. Notably, the North part shows extreme changes in the temperature.
I think, unlike the map dealing with the 30 years periods(1989 - 2018), developing the map with specific periods five years or ten years will help the researcher to identify the extreme temperature changing.
